Training and Consultancy

Resourcing Inclusive Communities offers training and consultancy to disability service providers and support workers, community organisations and volunteers, local councils and government.

Our work is deeply embedded in understanding contemporary and innovative practices experienced successfully by many people around the world and provides organisations and departments with a strong framework to examine best practice whilst supporting the move towards more optimal support that has a community based focus for people with disability.

Our training includes the delivery of tailored workshops for groups of 10 to 50 people, and can be provided at your venue or venue nearby in both metropolitan and regional NSW. Workshops are conducted by dynamic presenters who operate from a strong experience base and hold the philosophy that people with disability can be successfully supported to experience all that community has to offer alongside other community members.

Developing Community Connections

This workshop focuses on the practical ways we can support people with disability to develop long-lasting and genuine connections in their community. People with disability may be more vulnerable to isolation and marginalisation and they, and the people who support them, need to know and understand strategies to establish connections based on commonality, not disability. Supported by research and quality resources, including a workbook, this training and development opportunity can be tailored for Support Workers, Team Leaders or Line Managers.

Disability Inclusion and Awareness

Disability service providers, local councils, government departments, community organisations and volunteers work under The Disability Inclusion Act, Disability Inclusion Action Plans and other legislation, policies and protocols that encourage genuine social and economic participation and employment for people with disability. For those who have had limited exposure to the barriers that affect people with disability and their families, this Disability Inclusion and Awareness Workshop is a good first step to help workers and volunteers understand what authentic inclusion looks like and how they can support people with disability to achieve a greater sense of inclusion through meaningful connection and participation. This training and development opportunity can be tailored for all staff roles and volunteers.
