  • 14 May 2026
  • 06:00pm - 07:00pm
  • Online via Zoom

Individualised living conversations bring together people with disability, their families, allies and professionals with knowledge and experience in individualised living to discuss how we can create opportunities for people with disability to live in a home of their own, with the support they need to thrive. Our panellists come from around Australia sharing their ideas, experiences and insights.

People do not usually choose to live together because of a label or disability. They choose to live together because they want to share their lives and live in a way that feels right for them.
In this session we explore Homeshare.

In short Homeshare is when two or more people share a home and support each other in everyday life.

Homeshare is a simple and natural way to support someone at home. It is based on a real relationship, not a paid support role. The housemate is not a support worker. They might provide a helping hand with tasks and be around the home, including at night.

Each Homeshare arrangement is different. It is important that both people are a good match and feel comfortable living together. Both people share the home and build a life that works for them.

Join this session to hear more about Homeshare and the information and resources that could help you create a successful homeshare arrangement.
