Imagine a life beyond disability services... Use your NDIS package to get more of 'the good life'.

This 2 part online workshop is for anyone who wants much more for the person with disability in their life.

Dates: Wednesday 1 December and Wednesday 8 December, 1pm - 3pm. 
Please attend both sessions.

Many people with disability spend much of their lives in disability programs and potentially miss out on accessing a full life. A clear vision and good planning are crucial to get authentic inclusion for people with disability.

Imagine a life beyond disability services...

  • Learn how to access the good things in life for people with disability
  • Identify and build on the valued roles that contribute to genuine inclusion
  • Develop a positive vision for a person with disability
  • Practical strategies and tips on working with the community and/or services
  • Explore what formal and informal supports look like and how to implement them

Cost: $35 for students and families*; $50 for professionals (This covers both sessions)

Workshop topics

Session 1, 1pm - 3pm Wednesday 1 December

  • What is inclusion really? Learn to spot if something is inclusive or not, with real-life examples.
  • The devaluing people with disability How the devaluation of people with disability creates a different set of conditions.
  • The Good Life What are the essentials of a 'good life'? How do we create it for people with disability?
  • Let's think typical An antidote to 'disability thinking'.

Session 2, 1pm - 3pm Wednesday 8 December

  • A 'Vision' Use this tool to plan for an inclusive life.
  • Socially valued roles Look at our lives through the roles we do, then use this perspective to see how people with disabilities can be valued in their communities.
  • Self-management What is it? How managing your supports yourself can create more choice and control.
