The Supported Employment and Advocacy Project aims to assist people with high support needs and their families to make informed decisions, understand their employment options including rights, as well as how to navigate the employment support system.

What is this free webinar about?
As well as outlining various employment pathways, this webinar for families will explore employment rights for people with disability, what to do if those rights are not upheld or recognised and how families can support and advocate for their family member in the workplace.

Who is the webinar for?
Family members whose family member with disability are:

  • working in a supported employment environment (known as Australian Disability Enterprises)
  • working very limited hours (less than 8 hours per week)
  • not currently working
  • attending a day service or activities
  • facing multiple barriers to finding employment
  • seeking an alternative employment option to what they are currently accessing, or
  • a young person transitioning from school to work

This webinar is free, but registrations are essential. Online via Zoom.

This is a national project led by Inclusion Australia and Disability Advocacy Network Australia. Funded by the Department of Social Services. Inclusion Australia is the national peak body for intellectual disability. Family Advocacy has been engaged to work with and directly support families, to better support their family members with disability.
