Preparing for High School can be both exciting and daunting for young people and their families.
Young people with disabilities deserve to enjoy all the social and learning opportunities school offers, inside and outside the classroom - but that doesn’t happen easily.
You don’t have to face it alone.
The Preparing for High School Peer Network is for family members of young people in years 5 and 6, with disability, approaching the high school years.
It’s a group where you can:
All sessions will be held online via Zoom, Fridays 12 - 1.00pm (AEST - September, AEDT - October & November)
Alison Wilson supported her daughter Grace through mainstream schooling from K-12.
Grace was included alongside her peers to experience all that school offers, through and beyond the curriculum.
A Peer is someone with similar experience to you. A Peer Network is a connected group of peers.
A peer network is not a seminar. It’s a group that works when everyone contributes.
The facilitator is there to help the group stay on track, not to provide all the answers.
